Meet Plaza's Management Team
Kevin Parra, a Director and Plaza's President and Chief Executive Officer, has over 26 years of mortgage banking experience. Prior to co-founding Plaza, Mr. Parra was Senior Vice President/Divisional Director for New America Financial, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Aegis Mortgage Corporation, where he was responsible for production and operations of seven West Coast branch offices from Seattle, Washington to San Diego, California. Previously, Mr. Parra was a Wholesale Regional Manager involved in national strategic planning for Fleet Mortgage Corp., a manager of the National Correspondent Lending Division of Plaza Home Mortgage Bank (an unrelated entity), and the co-founder and former owner of Avalon Mortgage Corporation, a San Diego, California mortgage brokerage firm. Mr. Parra has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Financial Services and a Master's Degree in Real Estate, both from San Diego State University.
James Cutri, a Director and Plaza's Executive Vice President, National Production, has over 17 years of mortgage banking experience. Prior to co-founding Plaza, Mr. Cutri was a Wholesale Account Executive for New America Financial, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Aegis Mortgage Corporation. Previously, Mr. Cutri was a top producing loan officer for both Avalon Mortgage Corporation and Fleet Mortgage Corp. Mr. Cutri holds a Bachelor's Degree in Urban Real Estate Planning from the University of Southern California.
Karin Neidhart, Plaza's Senior Vice President, Lending Operations, has over 27 years of experience in the mortgage industry, including 15 years underwriting experience. Prior to joining Plaza in December 2000, Ms. Neidhart was Underwriting Manager for New America Financial's San Diego Wholesale Branch, and a Wholesale Senior Underwriter for Trust One Mortgage and Oakmont Mortgage. Additional experience includes Senior Underwriter for North American Mortgage Company Builder Division, Underwriting Supervisor for First California Mortgage Western Region, and Government Underwriter for EMCA Mortgage and All Coast Financial, Inc. Ms. Neidhart holds DE (Direct Endorsement), VA Automatic (Veterans Administration Delegated Underwriter, Federal Housing Administration Direct Endorsement), and LAPP (Lender Appraisal Processing Program) designations.
Michael Modell, Plaza's Senior Vice President, Capital Markets, oversees pipeline risk and is tasked with overall management of Plaza's Secondary Marketing Department, including pricing, products, selling and delivering loans. Mr. Modell's industry career focus has been primarily pipeline risk management and mortgage-backed trading. Prior to joining Plaza in 2004, he was Assistant Vice President for Pasadena, California- based IndyMac Bank, where he was responsible for hedging the company's $2 billion pipeline of monthly rate locks. Previously Corporate/CMBS Bond Trader for Countrywide Securities Corporation, he created and developed a trading desk that regularly carried positions in excess of $100 million. Mr. Modell has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accountancy from California State University, Long Beach, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern California. In addition, Mr. Modell is a Certified Public Accountant and holds both Series 7 and Series 63 securities licenses.
Andi Fairbourn joined Plaza in 2005 and is Vice President, Secondary Markets. Previously Vice President of Capital Markets for San Diego, California-based American Mortgage Network, Ms. Fairbourn was responsible for all non-conforming loan sales, hedge positions and product development. Ms. Fairbourn has also held positions with Wells Fargo Mortgage Resources, were she was responsible for investor relations, Alt-A and niche product loan sales and competitive research and analysis, and as an underwriter with Freedom Mortgage in Salt Lake City, Utah. Ms. Fairbourn is a graduate of the University of Utah.
Michael Fontaine joined Plaza in 2004 and is Plaza's Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer. Previously Director of Finance for Enovation Graphic Systems, a subsidiary of Fuji Photo Film U.S.A., Inc., Mr. Fontaine was responsible for the financial performance of the $100 million Western Region business segment. Past positions include Chief Financial Officer for Nelson-Keystone, a multi-state graphic arts distribution company, and several senior financial positions in closely held firms, including a mortgage broker/banker, a clothing manufacturer, a communications and advertising company, a real estate development company, and Deloitte Haskins & Sells. Mr. Fontaine is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Management Science from the University of California, San Diego and a Master of Science Degree in Accountancy from San Diego State University.
Jane Latchford is Plaza's Vice President, Controller. Prior to joining the Company, Ms. Latchford was the founder and President of Latchford & Latchford, Inc., a full service tax and accounting firm with over 450 individual tax clients, 100 business tax clients, and 150 monthly accounting clients. Previously, Ms. Latchford was an accountant in the Property Management and Real Estate Acquisition Divisions of Radnor Corporation, a subsidiary of Sun Oil Company. Ms. Latchford holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Vermont and a Master's Degree in Accounting from National University.
Norma Murphy,
Plaza's Vice President, Post Closing, has over 25 years of mortgage banking experience concentrated primarily in wholesale lending. Prior to joining the Company in May 2008, Ms. Murphy was SVP National Credit Manager for American Sterling Bank, and also held the position of Vice President/National Underwriting Manager for San Diego-based American Mortgage Network. Ms. Murphy holds a Bachelor of Science in Business degree from Miami University with majors in Accounting and Finance.
Julie Manson, Plaza's Senior Vice President, Risk Management, is tasked with helping to develop operational risk policy and procedures with an emphasis on Compliance. Ms. Manson joined the Company in 2009 and has 28 years experience in lending operations. Most recently Executive Vice President Lending for Home Savings of America, Ms. Manson was charged with opening the bank's mortgage channel. In addition, she served as Senior Vice President Lending Operations and Credit Risk with San Diego-based SCME Mortgage Bankers. Ms. Manson is a DE Underwriter and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix.
Ralph LoVuolo, Plaza's Senior Vice President, Chief Underwriter, joined Plaza in 2010 and is responsible for providing support, direction, credit guidance, and loan policies and procedures to ensure the overall quality of Plaza's portfolio. Ralph is a third-generation financial services professional who began his mortgage lending career in 1989 as a Retail Loan Officer after graduating from Adelphi University. Most recently Chief Underwriter for Ocwen Financial's Origination Division, Mr. LoVuolo has also held positions with companies such as Countrywide Financial and Option One Mortgage. In addition, Ralph was President and Founder of a nationwide quality control company that provided post closing quality control reviews and compliance support. Ralph holds a DE (Direct Endorsement) designation with HUD, which he obtained in 1995.
