October 5, 2017

October marks the beginning of a month focused on spreading breast cancer awareness. Plaza is proud to be entering our sixth year supporting Susan G. Komen San Diego. Earlier this year, we donated $86,004 based on the 2016 October loan volume commitment. To date, Plaza has contributed over $411,000 for Susan G. Komen San Diego, making us their largest corporate contributor!

“We are proud to be Susan G. Komen San Diego’s largest corporate contributor, as breast cancer has impacted the lives of many Plaza associates and their family members,” said Kevin Parra, president of Plaza. “It is an honor to partner with Susan G. Komen San Diego each year, and our annual donation is a testament of our commitment to making a difference in the lives of women facing breast cancer.”

Each year, our donation amount is based on October loan volume and is the result of the extraordinary support of our associates and clients nationwide. Donations like Plaza’s help Susan G. Komen San Diego provide free diagnostic mammograms, life-saving screenings, temporary financial aid for living expenses, transportation, meal deliveries, education and more.

"Plaza Home Mortgage is a model for corporate philanthropy and making an impact in the communities where they do business," said Shaina Gross, president and CEO, Susan G. Komen San Diego. "Plaza's company culture of giving back has saved and improved thousands of lives--we couldn't be more grateful."

This month, we will again sponsor a free mammogram event for underserved women. Individuals who are underinsured or uninsured are encouraged to obtain breast cancer screenings at this event.
